Many college guys do not understand the difference between high fashion modeling and fitness modeling. However, much of our advice is applicable to any male. The smartest first step before entering a male model search is to research what type of modeling opportunities YOU should be searching for. If you were opening up your own business, you would research the industry you wanted to enter. The same goes for modeling. You should educate yourself on the male modeling industry by reading our modeling tips before you attempt to become a male model.

Athletic Modeling gives advice geared primarily toward athletic college-age males. Young male are often best suited for Model Jobs that are fitness and underwear oriented - where young guys who have muscular or defined bodies earn money from modeling.

Target One Type of Male Modeling

If you wish to wear trendy clothing in fashion magazines instead of showing off your body, you are seeking to become a male fashion model. You should move to a large city after signing a contract with a top modeling agency that has a strong men's division.

Fitness modeling and underwear modeling jobs are different from fashion modeling. Fitness and underwear models need to network with different photographers, modeling agencies and industry professionals than guys who are fashion models. Fitness modeling shows bodies, not clothing.
