Talent Managers Screen Modeling Offers

There are many reasons why your should screen modeling offers you receive. Many opportunities new guys receive are not legit or seek to take advantage of them because they do not know the tricks and traps of the modeling industry.

Talent Managers Screen Out flakes

It isn't smart to speak directly with people who see your photo on websites like Myspace, modelmayhem, onemodelplace, or freelancemodels, etc. Real industry professionals do not have time to troll through those websites to book models.

You want your images seen by "qualified" industry professionals. Qualified means the person viewing your images actually hires models or directly knows people who hire models.

You need to show your pics to professionals who actually hire male models for legit jobs. Do you know that some large modeling agencies protect their models' portfolios with passwords and give passwords only to qualified industry professionals?

When you make your email or phone number publicly available, there's a good chance sketchy characters will contact you. Trust us. For every photographer who wants to hire you for a good job like Under Amour, there will be 15 strangers who will do nothing for you.

Screening Gets More Money for You

Bullshit artists will know you are not some stupid kid if you have a manager. They know you have some guidance and will be paid what you are worth.

Let the con artists move on to the next naive college guy. Otherwise, you may find yourself appearing in something embarrassing that you hope your parents never see!

So, don't try to be your own manager. A professional will know what signs to listen for. A professional will not prevent you from taking some Model Jobs. They simply encourage guys not to act desperate and to not accept certain offers.

Limit Photos online

It does not help to post 27 of your photos on the web. If you want to add yourself to modeling websites, only post three or four of your best images. You are only as marketable as your weakest photo. If you include a photo in which your body looks great, but your face looks not as good, industry professionals will reject you on that weak photo.
