Exposure Offered by Photographers Can Be Worthless
We encourage new guys to learn about modeling and adopt goals for themselves. When we talk to new guys, they often say their first goals are simply "exposure."
However, exposure is not always positive and often is worthless. Most photographers who are too cheap to pay new guys say they have "exposure" to offer. They say if you pose for these pics, you get exposure (and can get paid by someone else later.)
Many photographers may wish to photograph you without paying you. They may offer you the exposure of appearing in their portfolio on their website. Appearing on a portfolio of a photographer who has no paying clients and whose work does not get published in any magazines will not help you much.
